Well, hello there. I hadn’t posted on tofucado (blog) for two weeks because it has been crazy! Job is insane these days and the whole world is also a bit crazy so I haven’t had the proper time to write some stuff here. But today it is saturday and that means, a brand new video (& recipe this time) for tofucado. And today we are doing something experimental: We are trying soy protein, and we are attempting to make some good old dak galbi (spicy stir-fried chicken), but obviously, 100% vegan.
The video is right here 👇

Servings: 2 people
Ingredients
- 1 package soy protein (around 400g)
- 1 cup cabbage
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 carrots
- 1 cup mushrooms
- 1/4 cup sriracha sauce
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tbsp chives
- Salt & pepper
- 1 portion of rice per person
Instructions
- Soak the soy protein in water for 30 minutes.
- While the soy protein soaks, prepare the veggies. Cut all the vegetables in large chunks.
- When the 30 minutes have passed, boil water and cook the soy protein for 10 minutes.
- While that cooks, cook your vegetables in a large pan or work with a bit of olive oil. I cooked the onion and garlic for 3 minutes, then the carrots for t3 minutes, then the cabbage for 3 more and last but not least, the mushrooms for 3 minutes as well.
- When the soy protein is cooked, drain the water and mix the sriracha and spices. When it's well mixed, mix the soy protein with the veggies.
- Cook for 5 to 10 more minutes and enjoy ! Serve with some white rice on the side.
